We are seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk to join our Patient-Centered Medical Home team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, processing medical record requests, and providing administrative support to patients, families, and care team members.

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
 
JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Records Coordinator is a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team and provides administrative support to the patient and family and other care team members to ensure smooth patient workflow and quality patient care.
 
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Processes documents according to procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient health information.
  •  Scans all correspondence, lab, and x-ray reports into correct patient EHR, under correct tab, assuring that necessary signatures appear on documents.
  • Follow the workflow to scan various other records, lab detail and other correspondences.
  • Meets the productivity standards for medical charts based on the amount of scanned documents per week vs. number of charts scanned.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with each other to ensure that the medical projects are being completed concurrently.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
  • Physical requirements for this position include: hearing, seeing, speaking, feeling, reaching, pinching, bending, stooping, standing, sitting, walking, computer keyboarding, 10-key, phone operation, and repetitive motions.
  • This position requires sitting for long periods of time. Walking and/or standing is required routinely.
  • This position requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force in order to lift, carry, pull, or move objects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years experience in the medical or customer service field preferred.
